Description
One reel to reel recording. Boltin served as emcee. Rain lived in Gainesville. Smith was from Fort Myers. Daniels and Webb were both from Jacksonville. Once called the 'Woody Guthrie of Vietnam,' Pham Duy wrote over 1000 songs. Born in Ha Noi in 1921, he trained in Paris in the 1940s. A part of the anti-French resistance, Pham Duy traveled Vietnam learning folk songs, and supporting regime change. In Spring 1966, as part of a cultural exchange program with the US, the 46 year old Saigon resident toured the United States. By the 1980s, Duy resided in California, still writing and performing. An image of him can be found in S 1578, box 3, folder 36.

One reel to reel recording. Boltin served as emcee. Singer Jeanie Fitchen at the time was billed as Eugenia Sisinni. The Three Songsters were Girl Scouts (Linda, Ellen, and Ann). Blake was from New York. Locket drove glass-bottom boats at Rainbow Springs. Here, he gave an example of his boat tours. He passed away later the same year. The Stephens were from Panama City. Ballew and Sisinni were both from Orlando. The Beadnells were from Orange Park.  The A. C. Reynold School Square Dancers were from Asheville, NC.

Knott, of Kentucky, was the festival's first director in 1953 and 1954. Billie was from Brighton Seminole Indian Reservation. Sunland Sunshine Singers were from Tallahassee. Cox lived in Moorehead, North Carolina. The Brewer Yeast cakes were based out of Gainesville. Rosa and Zeke lived in Panama City. Hall was from Sarasota. Esther Beadnell lived in Orange Park, originally from West Virginia, while Tom was from New York. Malkine sang French folk songs. Boltin, the festival director, told a Brer Rabbit tale. The Friday evening performances were rained out.
