- One digital audio tape (DAT). Jim and Jesse were brothers from Virginia who began performing as a bluegrass-country music duo in 1945. Later they formed the Virginia Boys to back them up. Florida fiddler Vassar Clements was once a member. In the late 1950s, they played the Suwannee River Jamboree in Live Oak, a weekly country music show broadcast live on WNER. In 1959, Martha White flour became their sponsor (as they were for Flatt and Scruggs), and in 1964 became members of the Grand Old Opry. The band consisted of Jim (guitar/vocals), Jesse (mandolin/vocals), Luke McNight (mandolin; grandson of Jesse), Tom Ewing (bass), Jim Britton (banjo), and Gordon Reed (fiddle).

- One digital audio tape (DAT). (The second half of the tape consists of Sunday morning performances.) Dean was born in Quincy, Florida in April 1962. After a basketball scholarship to East Central Junior College (Decatur, Mississippi), Dean began toruing clubs on the Gulf Coast. He entered the music business through a series of contests, most significantly in 1988 with a winning appearance on the TV show, Star Search. Releasing several hit country music albums in the early 1990s, Dean also performed in several TV comedies and soap operas. By 1999, Dean was no longer charting in the Top Ten, but was still a popular concert performer. He released his last album (Real Men)in 1998. (He relased a "comeback" album in 2005.) Fiddler Clements played with Dean.

- One digital audio tape (DAT). Jan Milner serves as emcee. John McEuen and Jimmy Ibbotson were members of the country-rock-bluegrass group the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, formed in 1965 and originally based out of California. McEuen replaced band member Jackson Browne in 1966. Along with the Byrds, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band helped move popular rock music into the folk and country genres. Their influential 1972 album, "Will the Circle Be Unbroken," features many famous country and old-time performers, including Merle Travis, Maybelle Carter and Vassar Clements. McEuen left the band in 1987, and Ibbotson left in the 1990s. In 2000, McEuen and Ibbotson released the album "Stories and Songs."

- One audio cassette tape. McEuen and Ibbotson were members of the country-rock-bluegrass group the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, originally based out of California and formed in 1965. McEuen replaced band member Jackson Brown in 1966. Along with the Byrds, they helped move popular rock music to into folk and country terrain. In 1972, they released the influential "Will the Circle Be Unbroken" which many early country and old time performers such as Merle Travis, Maybelle Carter, Vassar Clements, and made guitar player Doc Watson and major star. (Two sequels were, one in 1989, and the other in 2002). McEuen left the band in 1987, and Ibbotson left in the 1990s. In 1999, the two recorded the album "Stories and Songs." Here, they were joined by Clements and Vassar Carl (both from the Will the Circle Be Unbroken recording.)

- One digital audio tape (DAT). Clements was a long-time bluegrass and old-time music fiddler. Over the years, he played with Bill Monroe, Jim and Jesse, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Doc Watson, and Earl Scruggs. The Rice Brothers - Tony, Larry, and Wyatt - have performed bluegrass music with each other and as solo artists since the 1970s. Part of the "New Grass" movement (which also made Clements a well-known performer), the Rice Brothers have popularized and modernized bluegrass music. Tony and Wyatt played guitar, while Larry played mandolin.
