History of the Burning Spring Anastasia Island One of the Wonders of the World Peruse at Leisure The waters of this Wonderful Spring contains Iron, Magnesia, Sulphurated Hydrogen, Sodium and other minerals and qualities of a medicinal nature, as well as the peculiar quality of being inflammable, as it will ignite and burn like Alcohol by simply touching a lighted match or taper to the water. This peculiar water was discovered in 1893 by parties boring for an artesian well, and at 120 feet struck a mineral flow which was so strong they were flooded out and obliged to abandon it. After flowing away for two years the mineral and burning qualities of it were discovered and it was piped from the well to its present location and placed on exhibition. A Fire that will Burn But Not Consume Handkerchiefs of the finest texture may be passed through the fire without leaving a spot or stain.
