The "Government in Action" television program follows Florida Department of Agriculture Commissioner Doyle Conner and Agent Driggers on a "surprise" inspection of a Tallahassee grocery store. Commissioner Conner explains the inspection regimen that ensures quality assurance and protects Florida consumers. Meanwhile, inspector Driggers "candles eggs," weighs and grades, and conducts sulfite tests on meat products. Next, Commissioner Conner takes us to the Food Laboratory in the Nathan Mayo building in Tallahassee where lab technicians demonstrate tests to detect food additives and insecticide residue and judge food purity.
