THE GULF SCENIC HIGHWAY, now completed as Florida Highway No. 10 from Pensacola to Tallahassee, abouds in scenes of both loveliness and historical interest.
FLORIDA HIGHWAY NO. 10 north from Tallahassee to Thomasville, Ga., a distance of 30 miles, goes through some of the loveliest natural estates in America.
IN AND NEAR TALLAHASSEE, rich in historical lore, are the state buildings, the Florida State College for Women, ruins of Spanish and Inidan forts, Natural Bridge battleground;- to the lover of botany the vast profusion of natural and unusual woods and shrubs and flowers it doesn't find an equal anywhere.
WAKULLA SPRINGS, the world's largest- crystal-clear to its bottom, 185 feet, is one of the world's wonders.
APALACHICOLA'S FAMOUS OYSTER AND SHRIMP GROUNDS.
THE MAGNIFICENT DRIVES, AND BEACHES within 50 to 100 feet- vistas of palms and tropical shrubbery- extend for miles.
PORT ST. JOSEPH monument, 1/4 mile off highway one mile east of present St. Joe, commemoriating the site of Florida's first constitutional convention.
THE BIG PAPER MILLS AT PANAMA CITY.
VALPARAISO AND FORT WALTON.
PENSACOLA, with its weath of historical lore, its naval air school and old Spanish forts.

Born at Charleston, S.C., October 3rd, 1803= Practiced medicine at Apalachicola 1833-1855- Discovered principles of refrigeration, invented and first publicly demonstrated the world's first ice machine July 14th, 1850- Died at Apalachicola, Fla., June 16th, 1855.
The 6-mile bridge spanning Apalachicola bay is named for this Apalachicola Physician-Chemist- Benefactor as a tribute to his great service to humanity.
