General Note

This series contains license plate drawings from 1985 maintained by the Division of Motor Vehicles. The drawings and related correspondence are in response to an open contest for citizens to submit their ideas for a new motor vehicle tag design. Over 3,500 entries were submitted to the Division. The Cabinet eventually rejected all of the submissions and settled on just reversing the colors already in use.
