Dear Friends,
I wish you to know how deeply and sincerely my friends and I feel about your sacrifice. We praise you as fighters worthy of the cause of integration, and hope you know we are behind you.
Here in New York the picket lines in front of Woolworth's have been growing, but we have far to go. More and more students are joining, and we are doing our best. The emotions are high, and even here the police manage to find charges for some of our picketers. But we keep fighting, many of us wishing we had the chance to prove ourselves as you are doing.
Remember that we are working, hoping, and fighting with you, and don't give up.
