Dear Miss Stephens,

I would like to commend you [and] your fellow students in your zealous and [courageous] stand in [choosing] jail instead of paying fines in protest against discrimination and segregation in the recent sit-down non-violence movement in the south.

This prudent move will go down in history as the greatest action any young group regardless of race, have also given an inspiration to the Negro that seek human dignity and complete freedom. I pray and know your actions will not be in vain
