Dear Governor Dave:
Many thanks for your note conveying congratulations due to the making into an act the Everglades Park bill by Congress which has been hanging fire for several years.
Congratulations are in order not altogether to any one person or particular group, but to all, both now and yet to come.
Yes, Florida is to be congratulated in that it is her good fortune that the Everglades National Park to be is within her boundaries. The other States of the union may, with reason, be a bit jealous of Florida. On the other hand, Florida has placed upon her a great responsibilty. She, and she alone, has the power to [consummate] this great project.
The citizens of Florida now have something definite to work for--thanks to Congress.
By all doing their part wisely, the Everglades Park project will become a reality; how soon depends largely on how well we work together to that end.
Sincerely yours,
[signature]
Ernest.
