WFTV 9 MID-FLORIDA TELEVISION CORP. P.O. BOX 5795 . 639 W. CENTRAL BLVD . ORLANDO. FLA. 32805 . PHONE 241 - 6543 December 27, 1965 Honorable Haydon Burns Governor State of Florida Tallahassee, Florida Dear Governor Burns: I was pleased to hear your announcement that members of the capital press corps may soon get a first hand look at Disneyland in Anaheim, California. In finalizing plans for this trip, I hope that you will consider the possibility of one television and one newspaper representative from each of Florida’s four major markets, going on the trip as a “pool” reporter and cameraman for the area of Jacksonville, Orlando, Tampa and Miami. This arrangement proved successful for the opening of the Florida pavilion at the World’s Fair. I hope that space available would permit a similar arrangement for the trip to Disneyland. May I take this opportunity to send best wishes for the New Year and thank you for your kind remarks contained in the “Year-End” film for WFTV. We used it in news programs as well as a thirty-minute CENTRAL FLORIDA LOOKS TO ‘66 documentary. Sincerely, Ray Ruester Vice President, News & Special Events rr/jp RECEIVED DEC 29 1965 GOVERNOR’S OFFICE TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA
