COAST GUARD
IDENTIFICATION CARDS
ARE NOT NEEDED WHEN YOU FISH FROM LICENSED CHARTER BOAT
Persons fishing from private boats in Jacksonville's coastal waters and the St. Johns River are required to have official Coast Guard identification cards on their persons at all times.
However, if you are fishing from a licensed charter-boat inshore of offshore, these identification cards are not required. Your boat captain himself checks the identity of his passengers and provides the Coast Guard with a list of each party he takes out. This simple procedure is a special courtesy for the convenience of charter-boat parties, especially visitors from other cities, who might not have sufficient time to obtain an official identification card.
