WTVJ Miami footage of the Congress of Racial Equality (CORE) demonstration during the opening of the Florida Pavilion at the 1964 World's Fair in Flushing, New York on April 22, 1964. This film shows CORE demonstrators holding picket signs which read: "The only chain a man can stand the chain of hand in hand", "Discrimination is a wall which side are you on?" and "CORE Demands a Fair Share". A young man climbed and sits atop a Florida Pavilion pillar. Demonstrators sit in front of entrance doors to the Florida Pavilion singing and holding CORE signs that read "Freedom Now". A Pinkerton agent speaks to the group while the news media film, photograph and tape the demonstration. The last moments show several demonstrators being loaded into a police van; Patricia Stephens Due can briefly be seen to the left inside the police van.
