"After resignation from the Army he moved to Florida where he filled important positions in the State Militia. Rose from Capt. to Lt. Col. of the cavalry before being taken prisoner, as a member of the Florida Brigade, during the Civil War. Died in Quincy, Mar. 4th 1869."
