UNDER THE warm mid-day sun the 'gators and huge snapping turtles enjoy their noon siesta on fallen logs along the way, the sleepy moccasins coil on the banks of the stream.
In the soft evening air... silvery moonlight playing upon the swaying magnolias and live-oaks... is revelaed the hushed romance and glamour of the tropical, forest night.
The most modern hotel facilities are located just a hundred yards from the Spring. The extremely modest rates in effect at Wakulla Springs Lodge are an added inducement to come and enjoy the beauties rare and undefinable in this primeval retreat.
Wakulla Springs is easily reached from Tallahassee by a new highway, recently completed. Follow U.S. Highway 319 South from Tallahassee to the Springs.

FROM TALLAHASSEE TO THE SPRINGS
A TROPICAL WONDERLAND... for fun or rest
THE CLEAR, cool depths of beautiful Wakulla Springs, near Tallahassee, invite you for a swim. Here gay, laughing groups of young folks enjoy the invigorating waters, bask in the friendly sun on colorful floats, or lounge on the beach.
The bath house at Wakulla Springs affords individual dressing rooms and lockers, with separate wings from women and men. There are competent attendants in charge, and well-equipped showers for your convenience. Suits and towels may be obtained at the bath house.
Above: The mermaids of Wakulla Springs swim in rhtymic grace. Right: A vista of loveliness.
You will behold in utter fascination, through glass-bottomed boats, nature's underwater fairyland. Here you will see the world's largest spring of crystal clear water (reaching a maximum depth of one hundred and eighty-five feet) where objects are clearly visible at the deepest point. The panorma, reveled to the occupants of the glass-bottomed boats, makes the spring one of nature's wonderlands.
Or, perhaps you will enjoy the delightful boat ride through a jungle teeming with animal, reptile and bird life. Thousands of birds, rare and strange, will be seen in this tangled jungle with its plant foliage of berry reds, bronze greens and somber moss grays, forming a natural game and bird sanctuary.
Wakulla Springs has been the scene of many underwater motion pictures.. Grantlant Rice Sportlight Reel; Universal, Twentieth Century Fox and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. Shown below is a specially trained cast of swimmers who live at Wakulla springs or nearby Tallahassee.
Virgin forests of live-oak, magnolia, and cypress, framing the blue waters of the Springs, reflect their age-old, moss draped images in the crystal clear depths of the world's largest spring. The basin covers an area of four and one-half acres.
