The restaurant was owned and operated by four generations of the Kalfas family and closed in 2009 after 71 years in business.
Accompanying note: "Governor Reubin Askew (left) accepts the jawbone of an ass from his former campaign manager Elmer Rounds at the initial meeting of the Tallahassee 'Tiger Bay Club.' The gift is for Lt. Governor Tom Adams as part of the S.T.A.B. movement (Send Tom A Bone) by conservationist who reacted to Adams comment that stopping the Cross Florida Barge Canal was just 'throwing a bone to the conservationists.'"
