The Honorable Bob Graham
Governor of Florida
Tallahassee, Florida
Sir:
It was a terrible, terrible crime perpetrated against the insurance man, MCDuffie, in Miami and even more horrible is that those "law" officers got away with it.
It was obvious upon reading the initial account of the melee which took place on the street that day that those officers seized this opportunity to rid themselves of their own frustrations, even to the point of striking each other. When I read of encounters such as this, I can only believe that most white males in this state thoroughly enjoy "getting one of them" and cops are the most violent. Anyone with a gun, a night stick and whatever, have a distinct advantage over a completely unarmed individual, don't you agree? And especially when there are 4 to 1 odds!
And another disturbing point is the all-White jury. You owe it to your state to investigate this matter to the enth degree or you may find yourself with a different job next election if my vote means anything to you.
Mrs. Elizabeth Yordan Adams
P. S. A reply is not necessary. Just let me see some action.
