Dear [Priscilla],
This is the eighth letter I have written this evening expressing my support of the action which you and your seven friends displayed when you chose a two months jail sentence rather than compromise your beliefs that racial discrimination is a moral injustice. In those other seven letters to your friends I said things like "We admire you for your uncompromising stand for what is undeniably right," "You have set an example which has been a source of inspiration and renewed effort to all of us, " "Congratulations and thank you for showing us the way to a worthwhile goal and an end to be sought with all effort." I want to say all those things to you too. But in addition I want to make a request that I did not make to the others. I don't know why I chose you except that I just turned 21 myself and maybe I feel a little something in common with you especially. Whatever the reason, I hope you can find the time and the desire to
