Dear Priscilla:

My son Paul is also studying toward a degree in education and was happy to find you of similar dedication. After voicing doubts that he would have sufficient courage to do as you have done he continued his observations by stating that your example was a great inspiration to him and to college kids in general. "The world and education needs this spirit and needs it sorely. Priscilla will not only know how to teach. She will know what I teach."

I have no doubt that you realize that you are engaged in teaching at this very moment - and on the grander scale possible. You are demonstrating for mankind the wisest and most powerful method toward social reform yet devised - there is no saner approach. And - you are touching hearts as well as minds. The ultimate designed and purpose of your chosen craft and of those who strive within it.

That I weep through the knowledge of our suffering is of little moment. That you be aware of these tears is of the utmost importance. For I have read the books and have been vexed by study - but now my heart is full. This, too, must be true of the many, many others who have shared your story and of your valiant sacrifice for all people.

Your acceptance of this bitter cup is teaching truth and demonstrating courage as no whip or book could ever do. Many are watching - all are informed - and none of these may be - misinformed - true ever of your guards.
