"The Altamonte" Altamonte Springs, Fla.

"THE ALTAMONTE" at Altamonte Springs, Florida, is 138 miles south of Jacksonville on the Atlantic Coast Line. The hotel is located in the pines between two lakes and among beautiful orange groves. The climate is dry and healthful. The drinking water is unsurpassed by anything in Florida, and equal to the Poland Springs of the North. The house is very comfortable and attractive, open fire places and steam heat. Our table is first-class, all white servants. Good hunting and fishing. All the usual attractions in the way of games, golf, tennis, pool, etc. "The Altamonte" can be reached by St. Johns river from Jacksonville. Guests are met at Sanford by automobile from the hotel. RATES $3.00 per day and up $12.00 per week and up J. SUTHERLAND STUART, Mgr.

The hotel was built in 1883 by the Altamonte Land, Hotel and Navigation Company. The hotel burned on July 1, 1953. J. Sutherland Stuart owned the Altmonte from 1905-1906 and again in 1909.
