July 10 Dear Mother: Please forgive me for not writing sooner, but we have been so busy relaxing and sightseeing that we just forgot about all the time. Bob played 18 holes of golf Tuesday and he sure enjoyed it. he said to tell you that he sure feels years younger since we started our vacation here, and he suggests that you and Dad should come to Lake Wales for YOUR vacation this September. Nan and Billy are as tan as they can be. They are outside all day long, either playing on the sandy beach or paddling in the pretty lake right near us. I don't believe that I have ever seen them so happy. Tomorrow, Bob and I are going fishing. It seems that almost everyone down here fishes, and should just see the big bass they catch. We've just got to try our luck- especially since Bob bought 3 NEW plugs. We met some real nice folks from near home who are living here now, and they are going to take the children for more sightseeing while we go fishing. Everyone down here seems so nice that we almost forget that we are just vacationing. Please tell Dad that he would get a lot of pleasure driving through the rolling hills on roads bordered by miles and miles of citrus groves. You might also tell him that even he could get a good night's sleep down here. It gets surprisingly cool in the evenings, and we don't wake up until the sun is shining in our eyes. It is just wonderful. All of us are enjoying the best vacation we have ever had, and since our expenses are less than we expected, we are making plans, now, to come back next year.
