Description
The February 25, 1864 edition of The Peninsula, a newspaper published in Fernandina, Florida. Articles of interest include a poem titled "The Work" by Anna Cabot Lowell Quincy Waterston; a letter from President Abraham Lincoln to Major General Frederick Steele in Arkansas; and a story about an expedition led by Union Major Thomas B. Brooks up the St. Mary's River to save a series of valuable lumber mills and their products from destruction by the Confederates.
