Description
Video footage of the signing ceremony for Florida House Bill 591 by Governor Lawton Chiles in the Old Capitol. Chiles shakes hands and presents pens to several Rosewood Massacre survivors and their descendants including Mary Hall Daniels, Willie Eaverly Evans, Arnett Goins, Wilson Hall, Dorothy Goins Hosey and Minnie Lee Langley. Wilson Hall makes a brief statement about the memory of the event and healing.

Ignorance and racial hatred can lead to death and destruction. Let us use the memory of what happened at Rosewood to promote healing.
[Wilson Hall:]
Not long as I live, I can't never put it all behind me. It's too much to remember there and it lingered too long. Anything that sore that's been that wounded and opened that long and that much, its hard for it to heal overnight. So this ain't going to heal overnight. But eventually, I'm pretty sure, I'll be able to go on and forget about it.
