Mr. J. W. McConnell has been associated with Mr. Owen for more than fourteen years. He was reared in the best traditions of the stage and under such masters as Booth, Barrett, McCullough, Barry Sullivan, Mrs. d. P. Bowers, Madame Modjeska and Mary Anderson. With all these he has played important parts and each has contributed something to his development until today he ranks well as one of the foremost American actors.
THE COMPANY
The company which supports Mr. Owen this season is considered to be one of the strongest acting organizations in America and includes such well known favorites as J. W. McCONNELL, MARGARET MORRISON, Winifred Burke, last season leading woman in "Parsifal," Marie Van Barneveldt, seven years cast in leading parts "Stadt Theatre," Berlin, Germany; Clayton Anderson, Leopold Land (special engagement), late leading man for Viola Allen, also leading roles with Robt. B. Mantle, Henry Miller and others; W. Joseph Poirier, formerly with Robert B. Mantell, W. H. Niemeyer, Hardin Rickman, leading juvenile man from Bush Temple, Chicago; Elwyn Eaton, leading character man last season with Annie Russell; and others with metropolitan reputations.
