A lone egret caught in flight appears to be watching the Saturn V in flight heavenward with the Apollo 8 spacecraft and its crew.
The Apollo 8 mission took place between December 21 (launch) and December 27 (landing) 1968. The astronauts were Frank Borman, Commander; William A. Anders, Lunar Module Pilot; and James A. Lovell, Jr., Command Module Pilot.
