Engineer's Report, 1893

The Carrabelle, Tallahassee and Georgia Railroad Company was founded on January 5, 1891, by the Georgia and Florida Investment Company of New York and Paisley, Scotland, for the purpose of building a railroad from Carrabelle on the Gulf of Mexico northward through Tallahassee, and connecting to Thomasville, Georgia. 

In this letter written in 1893, engineer Frank P. Dawson certifies the completion of a section of railroad between Carrabelle and Tallahassee.

Indenture of Deed of Trust between
THE CARRABELLE, TALLAHASSEE AND
GEORGIA RAILROAD COMPANY AND
THE INSURANCES TRUST & AGENCY
LIMITED, dated 2nd June, 1893.

Gentlemen:-
As engineer of the Carrabelle, Tallahassee and Georgia Railroad Company, I hereby certify that the Railroad of that Company from Carrabelle to Tallahassee has been well and sufficiently constructed, and the permanent way has been completely formed all according to the contracts and specifications, as regards the portion thereof from Tallahassee to the forty fifth mile post from Carrabelle, and that the work of continuing the said Railroad towards Carrabelle is now actively and satisfactorily in progress,
