Duplicate State of Florida County of Jefferson T.J. Eppes hereby hires the undersigned freedmen as house servants for the year 1867 and agrees to give them respectively at the end of the year the amount set opposite their respective names. On their part, said freedmen , in consideration of the above & the amounts so agreed to be paid to them, hereby hire themselves to said T.J. Eppes for the year 1867, and agree to be on hand at all times & to do all work required of them, and for illness, idleness, impertinence or disobedience of orders they submit to be discharged & to forfeit [crossed out: all pay] so much of what may be due [?] as a board of arbitration shall determine. And for advances in money or otherwise they agree it shall be deducted out of their & each of their wages. Witness our hands, marked this 13th Feb 1867. T.J.
