State of Florida Jefferson County Articles of agreement made and entered into this the 22nd day of May one thousand eight hundred and sixty seven by and between Nathan N. Lamb of the one part and Epsy Whitfield, a freed woman of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Nathan N. Lamb shall feed, clothe and take proper care of Perry Whitfield, a son of the same Epsy Whitfield, freedwoman, for the period of three years beginning at the date first herein mentioned. In consideration whereof the same Epsy Whitfield, freedwoman, binds herself to place her son, the said Perry Whitfield, under the charge and care of the said Nathan N. Lamb for the period of three years commencing at the date first above mentioned, and that the said Perry Whitfield shall labor faithfully for the said Nathan N. Lamb during that period, and obey all orders usually given an apprentice whether said orders are given by said Nathan N. Lamb or his wife.
