Jan. 28th 1867 Articles of agreement entered into between Mrs. M.J. Taylor and the hired hands on her plantation in the county of Jefferson, State of Florida. Embracing rules and regulations for government control and management of the plantation for the year 1867. The labourers on the place are to be remunerated at the end of the year, when the crop shall have been gathered, housed, gined, baled and made ready for market in produce in kind at the following rates (½) one half the corn, cotton, potatoes, cane, fodder, etc. 2nd. Each labourer is to work 6 days in week unless otherwise permitted by the proprietors. Each labourer is to perform any kind of plantation work which the proprietor may direct at any time during the year that she may see proper to have done. The proprietor is to furnish the land, mules, ploughs, hoes, axes, waggons and other implements necessary to carry on the work of the plantation.
