HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO FEED A BABY PROPERLY? If the baby is a normal, healthy baby who can eat the foods usually recommended for babies, it will cost approximately $ 5.65 per month for each of the first three months. By the time he is six months old, it will cost from $7.35 to $9.50, and from $9.00 to $12.75 by the time he is a year old. The difference in cost depends on whether he is fed ready- prepared baby food, or food prepared at home. If the baby is breast-fed, the milk allowed on these plans should be used by the mother. The foods shown on these plans are for a month, and are the kinds and amounts usually recommended for babies.
