The Leon County Mental Health Association is supported by Community Chest Funds, membership dues, and gifts from interested people and organizations. We have a budget of $6,000 a year which includes a part-time salary for the Executive Director.
Our purpose is to develop concern among our citizens for the care and treatment of the mentally ill and the emotionally distressed.
We are affiliated with the State and the National Association for Mental Health and share in their purposes and expenses.

GENERAL INFORMATION
We are grateful to the active and sustaining members of the Junior League for serving as hostesses throughout this Fair.
The Mental Health Fair is the primary time during the year when we bring our organization to the attention of the community. However, other programs are offered throughout the year. We will be happy to have interested individuals join our organization and participate in our program. An opportunity will be given during the coffee breaks for individuals to become members.

In 1953 a bell was cast from the shackles and chains once used in mental institutions. The bell has become a symbol of hope for the mentally ill.
