Dear Mother.-
It has been quite a while since I have had any word from you. I wonder if you are getting my letters to you. I hope you are but even if you do not it need not stop you from writing. I haven't been so very punctual myself but am going to write oftener.
It is near Christmas now and it is not a cheering though[t] to have you spend it without Art. and I but you'll have to make the most of it and I hope it is a very merry one. I hope

I hope
you and father are both well. I presume you are worrying a great deal about us which I wish you [wouldn't] do for we are getting along very well.
We are enjoying o[?] first leave since we crossed the pond a[?]d are spending it in London. Have been here two days and have seen a good many of the historic buildings [?]nd [?]elics tho[sic] the city has been very [foggy] since our arrival, we'll be goi[?] back day after tomorrow [?]o it makes us move pretty lively to visit so many places.
It is qui[?] cold here now. We had some little snow a day ago, first I have seen for a long time so it brings back memories you know
[It's] quite cold where I am writing this but I reckon [you'll] be able to read it. I enjoyed a bed last night for the first time since we left the other side and it was quite a treat.
I [had] a [?] snap a picture of me a [?] short time ago and am sending you one for I know [you'll] want it. You [?]so will get a remittance direct from t[?] government soon for we've made [arrangements] to send [part] of our pay direct. Hope you get it without delay.
My hands are too cold to continue and besides I am going to make the most of that bed so with lots of love I close.
Your boy
Algy
P.S.Tell dad to send me [?]me news about the farm.
