Description
Letter from Arthur Lee Bevins to his sister, Merie Rieck, discussing his impending departure from Key West aboard the USCGC Tampa, likely for New York.
There is one of old man W.R. Johnson's boys signed on the ship the other day.
If we go to New York we will be in the north when our time is up so I will be glad anyway I am glad I got a chance to go home before we went[.]
If we [don't] get torpedoed before we get to our port I will write again and there is about as much danger as me [coming] home with this letter so you can expect one sometime[.] [W]e saw some rough weather on our last trip but did not get sick[.] [I]t is getting dark so I [can't] write much
