Dearest Family,
I hope you had a safe trip home. Daddy Marion, I hope you enjoyed your visit with your family. I was very disappointed that you did not come but I realized that I would see you soon.
I heard from Jackie Robinson yesterday (that is indirectly) and he is somewhat peeved with us because he says he has not heard from us. He also said that he has fifteen hundred dollars for us and he does not know what to do with it. I have written him but evidently the mail is being held up by the ministers. I told him to have the money sent to Tallahassee CORE. We can decide what to do with it when we get out. We should just turn it over to CORE (Tallahassee group) because we have many, many bills.
I was very happy to see you all

Sunday and very happy and surprised that Irving came. I heard from him one day and the next day he was here.
Have you received my doll yet? Please let me know.
Mother, I heard about the wonderful speech you made Sunday night. You really won the people over, especially the ministers. They talk about it every day.
I hope you have received all of my letters.
I probably will not send as many letters as I have been sending because it is taking me longer to answer them. However, I will bring all of them home next month.
I wish I could attend that gala affair in New York May seventeenth with Harry Belafonte, Sidney Poitier, Shelly Winters, and a host of other stars. It may be arranged but I am not sure.
I hope to have a typed copy of our activities (tours, etc.) soon from the National CORE office. I will send it to you.

I was just thinking that if the whole family is going to New York, maybe we can arrange housing. Irma, the lady we stayed with in N.Y., said that her next door neighbor would let us have her apartment for the summer for a very reasonable price. She meant Pris + I but the family could use it. Two bedrooms, kitchen, bath, living room, dining room. Irma plans to write me about it in detail soon and I'll let you know more about it.
Yesterday, we were told that there are vacancies for twenty students from Tallahassee (both universities) as counselors for the summer in different states. I plan to check on salaries, etc. I'll also let you know more about it. I am looking for job that pays more money. The job with Father Myers is still good.
We recevved[sic] (received) a card from the Morgans the other day (Monday.)
Write when you can.
I did not see Mrs. Houston. Did she

stop here? If she did she probably was not allowed to see us. Tell everyone hello for me.
Love, Pat
P.S. We plan to be home Mother's day May eighth. We get out on the sixth.
I shall enclose our protest song composed by Barbara, Pris and I. It can be sung to the tune of: 'Old Black Joe'.
I sent a copy to the Ministers, Jackie Robinson, and Jim Robinson
