Beard and one other laborer, three and one half pounds of pork and one pick of meal each per week, and the said Wiley Barwick hereby reserves the rights to deduct the value of the rations for all time lost. The said Wiley Barwick also agrees to give the said Jerry Beard and his laborer one third of the crop made and gathered on said land, the said crop to be divided on or before the first day January A.D. 1868. And, the said Jerry Beard and his laborer agrees to refund all advances made by the said Barwick during the year, when the crop is divided. It is further agreed between the said Wiley Barwick and the said Jerry Beard, that in case the said Jerry Beard leaves the place before the end of the year, that he is to receive five dollars per month for the time he has worked, the amount payable January 1, 1868.
