Agreement entered into between R.D. Johnson and the freedmen upon his plantation for the year 1867. This agreement entered into this between R.D. Johnson of Jefferson County, State of Florida, of the one part; Hinston Johnson, his father, Len Pane, James Pane, Cealie Pane, John Allman, Tobe Allman [To be half hand], Cathrine Johnson, Peter Thompson, Ben Hutchison, his son, Squire, daughters Antonia and Josie, Bob and Susan and Sam Johnson, Antney Stokes, Wade Ritchey, William Boman. Catherine and Cealie 2 thirds of a share each and of the other part, witnesseth: That the said laborers are to work together jointly [‘til] the plantation is repaired and made ready for planting. At which time they will divide the land and hands and work in two separate companies, one headed by Hinston Johnson and the other by Ben Hutchison, and each company shall draw one third of the crop made by them. They also agree to work jointly together at all work pertaining to the repairs and keeping up of the plantation during the year.
