work diligently, continuously, and skillfully, in the preparations, planting, harvesting, and preparing any and all crops that may be made on said lands. All lost time to be charged for at fifty cents per day, one half to be paid to the first party and the second half to be divided between the second party. Said freedmen further promise and agree to take good care of the stock when not used in the farm and not to use them for any purpose whatever outside of the farm, except by consent of the first party. Said freedmen are to receive one half of all crops made by them on said place, to be furnished house room, said freedmen further contract and agree to be responsible for all damage arising from their fault or mismanagement or the fault or mismanagement of any one of them.
